"The Name of ADONAI is a strong tower. The righteous one runs into it and is set safely up
high." - Proverbs 18:10 in the Tree of Life Version. In the beginning of the year I wrote about how we are influenced by our parents and grandparents, even other relatives, teachers and older friends. A good parent trains their children in the right way for their future life
(Proverbs 22:6.) That includes punishing them for being foolish and willful
(Proverbs 22:15; 23:13) but when they get hurt or scared, we pick them up and take care of them. We are their refuge, a place of safety; we are also their example of righteous living. That is why we should pray for God's guidance without ceasing (1 Thess. 5:17).

Now I watch as Concord Baptist Church has been changing and growing these last two years.
Father God is working in us, making us into a place of refuge for those searching for Him. We
are becoming a family, a lighthouse in Concord and beyond. I pray that we will continue to
grow and learn. Remember, you should never stop learning. Here's a little tidbit for you. Did
you know that Shem in Hebrew means "name?" That's the name of Noah's oldest son. Isn't
GOD wonderful?
